Welcome to the World of Food Radio! |

Calling
all foodies! New Food Radio is just for you. With contributors
including Michael Bukht (aka Michael Barry), Katie Derham (ITN and
Classic FM), Jilly Goolden (BBC's Food & Drink programme),
dietician Dr Sarah Schenker and chef/restaurateur Allegra McEvedy you
know we’re serious about food, drink and diet.
Radio
programming is an entertaining mix of food news and features including
interviews with producers, top chefs and influential personalities from
the food world. We’ll be discussing and debating the hot food issues
and keeping you right up to date with what's happening in the world of
local farmers' markets, supermarkets, local delicatessens and
specialist food retailers.
There’ll be daily podcasts of recipes
and readings from food authors, and each month Allegra McEvedy will
host a podcast on the serious food issues of the day kicking off with
Food Miles and how to minimise your carbon footprint.
Food Radio
champions quality local food suppliers, seasonality, the organic
message, sustainability and food provenance - all important issues to
anyone who cares about what they and their family eats. “We aren't
going to be evangelical about these issues,” says Katie Derham, “but it
is becoming an increasingly important factor in most people's shopping
preferences and indeed their whole lifestyle.”
We’ll have an
unrivalled database of over 3,000 regional food producers and 450
retail outlets through our partnerships with Food from Britain and
Country Markets. By working with Square Meal, we’ve augmented Food
Radio’s own restaurant listings and “guide of guides”.
The
portal is updated daily with the latest food news, issues and
information and there are thousands of fully glosserised recipes
complete with food values to get you in the kitchen cooking up a storm.
FOOD
RADIO is your channel and we want you to join in. Tell us your views;
send in your ideas and suggestions. Provided they are legal, honest and
decent we will feature them. Start your own debates on our forums - the
more the merrier.
Look out too for special offers from the suppliers list on our Food Radio portal and from our Founder Supporters.
