Sarah Raven's East Sussex garden has inspired books, newspaper columns, television, and thousands of green-fingered fans, but it is her dazzling collection of more than 450 imaginative and seasonal recipes that marks her breakthrough into the world of food. In this week's programme she shares recipes for edible flowers, such as nasturtiums and lavender, and tips for getting started with growing your own.
Sarah Raven writes weekly for The Daily Telegraph and freelances for others on the subject of gardening, and often brings recipe ideas into her articles. She is a presenter on Gardeners’ World and runs a gardening, flower arranging and cookery school at her place in Sussex. She also runs her own mail order company, Sarah Raven’s Kitchen.
Past credits include The Cutting Garden (1996), The Bold and Brilliant Garden (1999), Grow Your Own Flowers (2002) and The Great Vegetable Plot (2005).
Sarah is married to the writer Adam Nicolson and has two daughters and three stepsons. They live at Perch Hill Farm in East Sussex.
