Author Jane LunzerGifford helped Pret A Manger: Food on the Move come to life. She
attended a year of food development meetings with Julian Metcalfe, co-founder of Pret, and the team and spent untold hours working with their chefs and suppliers.
Jane originally trained and worked as a chef, but for the past
fifteen years has concentrated on
cookery writing and photography. She has published books and articles in
both England and Japan.
The book also showcases many of Pretísextraordinary DIY images. These
photographs have been
commissioned by Pret over the years and are the work of now famous
photographers such as Jenny Van
Summers and Jorgen Ahlstrom.
From shop floor to board room in seven years, Simon Hargraves works alongside Julian Metcalfe and heads the Commercial Team. He joined Pret
when it consisted of 50 shops. It is now an international company with 180 shops across 4 countries.
Simon talks about the charitable work of the company - an astonishing 1.2 million meals in 2007 will be distributed to hostels and charities working with the homeless.
